INTRODUCTION

 

The purpose of this report is to establish the criteria for progress monitoring and program evaluation at VUHS.  Our recommendation based on our findings, is to create a comprehensive progress monitoring system at VUHS that is specific to the VUHS Action Plan.

 

This report looks specifically at the pros and cons of establishing a self monitoring system accountable to the School Board and ANWSU Communities.  Within the scope of progress monitoring, we also examine the pros and cons of continuing to hire the services of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges as the objective, outside organization that reviews our work. (Also see Appendices I and V)

 

     VUHS now has a comprehensive, schoolwide Action Plan that encompasses our ongoing program work, our required Adequate Yearly Progress (See Appendix I for definition)  strategies, and most federal and state mandates.  The overarching goals of the VUHS vision are:

 

 

The ideas that follow show some of some of the specifics of our need to create an ongoing VUHS progress monitoring system.
