Bellows Falls & Saxtons River Street Railway Equipment Roster |
Equipment RosterThe original order of cars was: 2 two truck convertible passenger cars; numbered 1 and 2, 1 freight motor; numbered 3, 1 flat car and a trailer. Later 2 single truck open passenger cars were added to the roster and numbered 4 and 5. Eventually the Bellows Falls & Saxtons River Street Railway had 7 motor passenger cars. None of these were equipped for one man operation. Cars # 1 & 2 were built by Wason Manufacturing and were convertible double truck cars. Car #4 and #5 were open cars also built by Wason. They were bought help handle the crowds after Barber Park was established. Two additional convertible cars were purchased and numbered # 6 and # 7, I am currently looking for information on these cars.. The company also owned one motorized maintenance of way car (listed as "1 motor service car"). Car # 3 was a large freight motor listed as 1 electric locomotive.1 One of the old cars was converted into the Chimes Cafe in Bellows Falls.2 |
